Welcome, survivor
Nothing 2 Lose is a free, blocky zombie survival shooter that runs in your browser. You drop into a map with a team of survivors, the horde comes at you in growing waves, and you hold out until the round is won. Every kill and every round pays Cash and EXP. Cash buys new guns, attachments, armor and items. EXP raises your rank, and higher ranks open stronger weapons and harder maps. There is nothing to download: it runs on desktop browsers and on phones held sideways.
You never have to play alone. When there are not enough people in your game, AI survivor bots fill the empty spots on your team. They shoot, follow you around the map, and the medics among them carry a Defibrillator to bring fallen teammates back. If you would rather play with friends, you can host a co-op room and share the invite link, or join a room someone else has opened.
These guides explain the game in plain words. They are generated from the same data the game itself uses, so the prices, damage numbers, magazine sizes, map lists and zombie stats you read here are the ones you meet in a round. When a gun is rebalanced or a new map arrives, the guides change with it.

Your first hour
New to the game? This order gets you up to speed fastest.
- Learn the basics. Read How to play for the controls, how a round flows, how Cash and EXP work, where to refill ammo and how reviving works.
- Start on an Easy map. The game sorts its 13 maps into 3 Easy, 5 Medium, 4 Hard, 1 Extreme. Easy maps (Ashford Estate, Café County, Farmhouse) have fewer, weaker zombies and give you room to learn. The maps guide explains each one.
- Spend your first Cash well. Your starter gun gets the job done, but an early upgrade makes rounds much smoother. The weapons guide lists every gun with its price and unlock rank and suggests a buying order.
- Know what is chasing you. Most zombies just walk at you, but the specials can knock you down, pin you or blow up next to you. The zombies guide tells you how to spot and beat each one.
- Carry the right gear. Armor, healing and throwables keep you standing when the horde gets thick. The items guide covers what each one does and when to use it.
Tip: stay near your team. Zombies pick off survivors who wander away alone, and a teammate with a Defibrillator can only revive you if they can reach you in time.
Difficulty in short
Every map has one fixed difficulty tier: Easy, Medium, Hard, Extreme. The tier decides how many zombies can be alive at once, how hard they hit and how tough they are, which special zombies appear and how much the round pays. Harder tiers pay more for the same work, so moving up is how you earn faster once your guns can keep up. Extreme maps never come up at random: you only play them when you pick or vote for one on purpose.
When you use the Random map button on your own, the game only draws maps that fit your rank, so a brand-new player is never thrown onto a Hard map by accident. You can still choose any map yourself from the map picker at any time.
Frequently asked questions
Is Nothing 2 Lose free?
Yes. The whole game is free to play in your browser. Guns, maps and items are earned with in-game Cash and rank, which you get by playing.
Do I need to download or install anything?
No. Open nothing2lose.eu and press Play. The game runs in the browser on desktop and on phones in landscape. An up-to-date browser works best.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play straight away as a guest. A free account (email or Google) keeps your progress on our server, so you can carry on from any device and never lose it when you clear your browser.
Can I play with friends?
Yes. Host a co-op room and send your friends the invite link, or join an open room from the list. Survivor bots still fill any empty spots on the team.
Can I play alone?
Yes. In single player you are the only human and every teammate is an AI survivor bot. They fight, follow you and revive you, so a solo round plays like a team round.
How do I unlock better guns?
Play rounds to earn Cash and EXP. EXP raises your rank, and each gun has a rank it unlocks at and a Cash price. See the weapons guide for the full list and a suggested order.
What happens when I go down?
You fall, and a 30-second revive window starts. A teammate with a Defibrillator, including a medic survivor bot, can bring you back up during that window. If nobody reaches you in time, you are out of the fight for now and can watch your team; some objective maps and the Extreme tier bring fallen survivors back as the round goes on. How to play explains reviving in detail.
Which map should I play first?
Any Easy map. They have fewer and weaker zombies, and the Random button keeps you on maps that suit your rank. The maps guide has tips for every map.
How often is the game updated?
Often. Every change players can notice is listed in the updates devlog and in the UPDATES panel of the main menu.
Is it “Nothing 2 Lose” or “Nothing to Lose”?
Same game. The name is Nothing 2 Lose, also written Nothing to Lose or Nothing2Lose. The official site is nothing2lose.eu.
I found a bug. Where do I report it?
In the bug reports channel on our Discord (the link is in the footer of every page). Tell us the map, the gun and what you were doing.
